Milt Owen

Water Quality and Wildlife

While not considered new to the water quality world, Milton Owen is deeply invested in monitoring our waters and believes years of data are needed to make decisions and see change. Milton was previously with the Mitchell County Conservation Board for 36 years, where he witnessed the many benefits of habitat restoration, whether it be prairie, forests, or wetlands. With the state of Iowa having a great deal of diversity in its landscape, Milton feels passionately that people get outdoors and experience its beauty firsthand. Today Milton is enjoying retirement while serving as Assistant Commissioner with the Mitchell Soil and Water Conservation District.
