Dan Haug

Youth and/or Community Water Education

The seeds of conservation were sowed at a young age with Dan Haug—he vividly recalls being waist-deep in a marsh, fascinated by the aquatic insects he was seeing through a youth education program with Story County Conservation. His passion for the outdoors continued to evolve through his upbringing and education, with such experiences as pulling weeds in a restored prairie and involvement with ISU’s Student Organic Farm further piquing his interests in the intersections of land and water, agriculture and the environment. Today Dan serves as Water Quality Specialist with Prairie Rivers of Iowa, focused on water quality monitoring and providing public education on all things water.
