Water Quality in Public Policy and Government

For Alicia Vasto, working in the environmental space comes naturally, between discovering a passion for natural resources in her high school environmental science club, combined with a public service ethic cultivated by her parents. Alicia spent several years out-of-state pursuing educational and job opportunities before returning to her home state, drawn by connections to the land and the place-based nature of environmental work. Today Alicia serves as the Iowa Environmental Council’s Water Program Associate Director.
